Colour-Code Files According To Type
FreeCommander (https://www.fosshub.com/FreeCommander.html) is a useful alternative to Windows File Manager and features a split view, tabbed browsing, clever renaming tools and more. You can also color code your files using this application
FreeCommander lets you colour-code files based on their file
type (JPG, AVI, ZIP, and so on), making these types of files easier to pick out
at a glance. Click Tools, Settings, click View (in the list on the left), then
‘File/folder list’. Click the ‘Items color’ tab, click the ‘Add new color
class’ icon (above the ‘Color by file type’ field ), then click
‘Specify file extensions’. Enter the file extension you want to colour code (for
example *.zip – see screenshot). Remember to include the asterisk (*) as this
tells FreeCommander to apply the colour to all files of that type.
Finally click the ‘Set color’ icon (to the right of ‘Add new
color class’) and choose a colour. Repeat this process for as many file types
as you want, then click Apply, followed by OK.
