What are Call To Action (CTA) and How to create them in Powerpoint
According to Wikipedia, “A call to action, or CTA, is a
banner, button, or some type of graphic or text on a website meant to prompt a
user to click it and continue down a conversion funnel.”
A CTA should be clear and attractive, its color should be prominent
and it should match your theme. CTAs are the gateways to lead
generation, propelling prospects through the marketing funnel on the pathway to
becoming customers.
In reality,
many marketers outsource their CTA design needs, or hire a designer for their marketing
team who can create these pretty buttons to promote their marketing offers.
What people don't realize is that Microsoft PowerPoint can be a great tool for
a lot of your CTA design needs. You don't need to allocate a large portion of
your budget to CTA creation -- you can just do it yourself! So, let’s begin.
(1) Choose your shape. I am choosing
a rounded rectangle for my CTA. I am overlaying another shape on it which is a
‘Striped Right Arrows’ from Block arrows. (You can keep your CTA simple, but I
like it fancy!)
(2) Choose your color. You can
choose from the various colors from Shape fill or select a gradient pattern
from the shape styles or pick your colors from your logo. I am going to select
from the shape styles.
(3) Insert your text. You can
decorate the text however you want.
(4) Right Click >> Group >> Save
(5) To insert hyperlink right click >> insert
hyperlink (Enter the hyperlink in the pop-up) >>Click OK.
(6) And Ta Da! Your CTA is ready.
A Simple Trick, just click the
picture and select a different color and your CTA is in that color. You don’t
have to make it again, just change the colors and reuse your CTA wherever you
want.
Wasn’t that simple! Now give your try to some other simple designs.
This simple CTA is made by using
a Right arrow from Block arrows. Filled with green and text is decorated using
text syles. Select the text, Goto Format and select your text style then from
text fill select the color in which you want your text to be.
This CTA is made from three
rectangles, the smaller one given white with no outline, the inner middle
rectangle is given a shape styleand the other rectangle is simply filled with
grey with blue outline. Now you will not find a tick mark to “check” the CTA
box, for that I have used a ‘half frame’ from Basic shapes and rotated it in an
angle by holding its anchor and overliad it on the white box to get the desired
effect.
Ok, I bet you are now bored of
rectangle, so lets get a bit more creative. For this CTA, I have used a ‘8
point Star’ from Stars and Banners. Kept the outline white and filled with
red and gave it a shape effect.
Now Lets your imagination run and design your CTA's for your website / blog / Landing pages or wherever you require. Also, do leave your CTA ideas in the comment section.
