[Tips] How to add free Images on your Blog / Website

Images are very important for your articles. But not everyone of us are expert in creating one. Some bloggers prefer Google image search, but images found this way are mostly subjected to restricted copyright terms. So, what do we do? The answer to this question is “Creative Common license”

A Creative Commons license is used when an author wants to give people the right to share, use, and even build upon a work that they have created. Hence Creative Common is an definetly alternative to restrictive copyright laws. Most images require only that you attribute the work to the original author, but some licenses include additional restrictions.

So, here’s how we find these images with Creative Common license and use them in your blog.

Searching Images through Google Images Search

• Go to the bottom of your image search result and Click Switch to basic version

• Again go to the bottom of the page and Click Advanced Search.

• Scroll Down the page and you will get “usage rights”. The option free to use share or modify generally leads to Creative Common images.

Searching Images through Flickr

• Go to Flickr.com and use the search box to search your image.
• In the search result, just below the search box, you will find an option of Advanced Search. Click “Advanced Search”.

• Scroll the page and near the end of the page you will find the option of “Creative Commons”. Check the box associated with it
• Now when you will search your images, the result pages will have “Showing Creative Common License content” at the top of your search result.

Once your select your image, just click on it. On the next page, you will find an option to share. To get the html code, Click “Grab the html code”. Select the size of image you want , copy the html code of the image and paste it in the source code of your blog (or where you want to use it).
