Create your Facebook Business Page in 3 simple Steps

Facebook is a well known social network for connecting people with those around you – friends, family, coworkers, or simply others with similar interests. Almost everyone of us owes an account on Facebook. Facebook can hence be an awesome media to grow your business, build your brand and develop relationships with your customers. Business pages are similar to personal pages, but are by default, public. Users can like and become a “fan” of your page without requiring approval from page administrators.

To begin with you can login to your account and then create your page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php . or you can click “Create your Page” which is right below Sign up button on the front Page of Facebook, and then sign in into your Account.

1. Choose your Category

Facebook provides 6 classifications. These classification helps you for relevant searches, and provide relevant information fields on your page.

Once you select the type of page you are looking to make, you can choose what category your brand falls into and your company name. Facebook will walk you through three simple steps to get your page started.

2. Complete Basic Information

a. Profile Picture : This is the image people will see when searching for you. It should be your company logo.

b. About : This section will appear below your logo on your business’s timeline/ homepage. This should specify what your business does in 2-3 sentences.

c. Facebook Web Address : It makes it easier for the people to find you. It’s a unique name which cannot be changed once set.

d. Enable Ads: Advertising your page can be very beneficial to your business. This is a paid feature of Facebook. You can enable ads here anytime by setting up an advertising account.

3. Use your Admin Panel

To edit your page, click on edit page at the top within the “Settings” . You are the administrator of your page. Your name will not appear anywhere on your business page unless you choose to post as yourself. By default, you will be posting as your business page name.

Settings --> General : Here you can decide who can post what on your page, location and age restrictions and post visibility.

Settings --> Page Info: Here you can edit the information about your company. This information is helpful in case people want to contact you or visit your business.

Settings --> Page Roles: Here you can decide who works on your Page. You can have a different role for each people depending on what they need to work on.

Settings -->APPS : You can connect various apps to your business page. A few of these apps include Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter.

Build Audience: You can contact your email contacts and friends from here. You can build your Audience by strategically inviting people from here.
